EFFECT OF ROSCA MICRO-SAVINGS ON THE WELFARE OF BODA-BODA MEMBERS IN EMBAKASI SUB-COUNTY

This study investigated the effect of ROSCA Micro-Savings on welfare Boda-Boda members in Embakasi Sub-County. The was guided by Grameen Bank Lending Model. Cross-sectional research design used this study. target population comprised boda-boda with an accessible 653. Samples 248 respondents were drawn from using stratified random sampling technique. structured questionnaires for data collection. A pilot conducted before main to determine reliability and validity questionnaire. Validity questionnaire determined through content test, while tested Cronbach alpha coefficient. Data processing analysis facilitated Statistical Package Social Sciences version 23. It encompassed both descriptive inferential statistics. Descriptive statistics such as means, standard deviations variance used. Inferential form Pearson’s correlation presented frequency tables. found that micro-saving services has a significant positive relationship members. indicated affordability convenience had increased income levels expenditure health education. From findings, researcher recommended government should enact policies would increase participation informal financial institutions scaling up literacy programmes, extending outreach people low-incomes. Finally, policy address training programs ensure they are more appropriate clients’ needs, be regularly qualified institutions/personnel.
